Banned from the Neighborhood Park

Blogger’s Note: This is a guest post from Midori the Beagle

We live in Salcedo Village.  Char Siew and i can go to all places of the village – except for one part – the Jaime Velasquez park.  For those who are not familiar with the name – you may actually refer to it as the Salcedo Park.  This is the location of the weekend market.

The park’s ban of dogs is sad considering that there are more and more areas around the city where dogs, cats and any pets are welcome.  The park’s counterpart in Legaspi welcomes dogs.  On weekends – you will notice that we actually go to the Ayala Triangle Gardens or Bonifacio High St.  We would have been happy with the Salcedo park – if we were just welcome there.

The odd thing is that the park is actually open to non-residents every Saturday.  Hundreds of non-residents with their cars congest the area – while we the resident canines are banned from the park.  I really wish the humans will rethink this and open the doors of Jaime Velasquez park to their furry friends.
