The other day, I was craving for egg tarts. I didn’t really know what they were until I tried them during our visit to Macau. The Macanese apparently love this pastry. They got it from the Portuguese. When I first tasted them – I exclaimed: Oh they’re small versions of our neighborhood Egg Pie but since they’re bite sized – eating them is a little bit more fun. This is a picture of my favorite egg-tart store in Macau. When you go through the side streets around Senado Square – you will find all of these small pastry shops. Looking at them – they remind me of the Hopia stores you will find in Binondo.
