Singing Candles Again

I was complaining to the other queens that I am sad that I couldn't sing the way that I used to.  I used to be able to sing and hit the right notes all the time.  I used to sing Bass and Baritone in the glee club.  So I wasn't made to sing the really high notes --- so to be more accurate, I used to be able to hit the right notes within my vocal range.

So what does a guy who longs to revive his so called talent do in this day and age of the Internet and the iPod?   You look for YouTube tutorials or Apple iPad and iPhone apps to help you.  I searched for a vocalization app and I found the "Sing Like a Pro" app on the iPad/iPhone.  I warmed up my voice before trying to sing another track in the Glee App.  Here is the result.

Rachel's Song: Get It Right

One of my favorite scene in this season's Glee, is the confrontation between Quin and Rachel.  It reminds me of that scene between Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz in "My Best Friend's Wedding".  The successful woman vs. the woman he falls in love with.  Is there really a dichotomy between career and love?

Kurt and Blaine's duet on Glee is wonderful.  Looking back at my Glee Club days - I wish that our club was as brave as the Warblers are when it comes to being gay.  Let's admit it - as much as there are straight members of the Glee club - a lot of them were gay.

Piano and Sax

This is a photo of the piano in the middle of Powerplant Mall in Rockwell. Today they feature a woman playing the piano and a man playing the saxophone. Yes - they had a duet - a duet that sounded nice. They were playing contemporary songs which I enjoyed listening to.

As I watched them though, I think of the man who usually plays the piano. He is an old man and there's usually an old woman who watches him play. I'm not sure if they are husband and wife but I just know that he seems to make her happy.

I wonder where the regular piano player is.  I wonder where the old woman groupie is.  I hope they're well.
