Time to satisfy our craving for Japanese food. One of the restaurants we go to regularly is Tsukiji found at Arnaiz st. But tonight – we decided to be a little bit more adventurous and revisited Little Tokyo found at Pasong Tamo corner Amorsolo st. This place is a not so secret destination for the Japanese enthusiasts. The Japanese nationals frequent the chain of restaurants found in this square footage of land across from Makati Cinema square. The menu is in Japanese and if you don’t speak the language – you would have to ask the waiters for the translation.
Seryna which is the restaurant closest to the Tori gate is our restaurant of choice. They serve great Japanese food for a very reasonable price. The great thing about the restaurant is that they have exceptional service and their produce comes from Japan.
We started with the Tofu salad with Mayo and Wasabi dressing. This is a refreshing take on the Tofu salad. We also ordered their best seller – which is the Salmon Roll with the crispy eel in the middle. When you eat this dish – you experience that moment in the middle of finishing the roll and you will exclaim – “sarap” ( delicious ).
We are not big fans of grilled dishes but tonight we ordered some grilled meat and vegetables on a stick. Each one of the dishes we ordered were yummy. One of the dishes is grilled bacon wrapped around a quail egg. That’s a heart attack waiting to happen.
For dessert – we explored the Little Tokyo courtyard and ordered shaved ice with Green Tea, Red Bean and Japanese Soda. That was the perfect ending for the meal.
